The Feldenkrais Method®
Of all the things our patients learn, improving habits of self-use is one of the most helpful and practical.  The Feldenkrais Method is an educational approach that enhances flexibility, coordination and a return to better movement and independence.  Feldenkrais lessons address your personal movement habits, showing you how to live and move with less strain, fewer injuries and more efficiency and comfort.  You'll discover the way you prefer to move, rather than settling for what you you've had.

Whether your goal is to relieve existing symptoms or to simply maximize the joy and freedom that harmonious movement brings, we invite you to explore the Feldenkrais Method. The lessons are effective for anyone, regardless of age or physical ability.  Feldenkrais is taught in two complimentary formats, Functional Integration & Awareness Through Movement:

Functional Integration®
Individual sessions, hands on.

Awareness Through Movement®
Verbally led for groups or individuals.
Weekly public classes

On Habits and Alternatives:
Throughout our lives we acquire habits of movement and posture: while some of these habits continue to serve us well throughout our lives, others do not.  Some habits even contribute to our discomfort and can make even the simplest activities unpleasant, painful, even impossible.  In fact, many of the limitations and discomfort that we attribute to aging are a result of unconscious habits we practice everyday.

Since your physical well being is directly linked with your mental attitude, taking the time to recognize your movement habits and return to healthy ones improves not only your body but also your ways of thinking, feeling and acting in the world. After all, quality of movement is quality of life.

"The body reflects the attitude of the mind. Improve the body and you must improve the state of the mind."
- Moshé Feldenkrais, D.Sc.
